The people who choose Dr. Rodriguez and the Delray Center are those who want more from their doctor, their therapy, and their treatment in general. Dr. Rodriguez founded the Delray Center in 2003 and built it on a foundation of core clinical, professional, and ethical principles that are adhered to still to this day. Medicine is still practiced as an art form at the Delray Center, exemplified in the many creative and progressive treatment methods developed and implemented to optimize clinical outcomes.
The advanced clinical systems used at the Center were developed as adaptations to the needs of the populace. The Delray Center is highly specialized in the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, as well as co-existing Major Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma/ PTSD, and Personality Disorders. Individuals who suffered from chronic relapsing and difficult to treat conditions needed better solutions. Aiming for just “a few months clean” or “a little better” was not good enough. Dr. Rodriguez and the Delray Center strive for full remission in each and every clinical situation, no matter how complicated the case. “Nobody can help me” does not exist here.
Solutions did not come easy and took years to develop. Traditional forms of treatment are not very effective for a great many patients and are poorly adaptable to the ever-changing landscape of the addiction world. This is why Dr. Rodriguez decided to incorporate newer medical and psychological approaches to treat addiction, because he knew there had to be a better way. A better way was definitely found and is continually evolving and adapting to the changing needs of patients. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the fundamental basis of our clinical model. DBT teaches highly structured and effective skills that greatly improve relapse prevention as well as address commonly co-existing conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, and Personality Disorders. Our integrative philosophy brings together elements of fitness, nutrition, vitamin therapy, acupuncture, massage, meditation, and yoga to further optimize our patient outcomes. Our “Clinical Team” approach further sets us apart, bringing together professionals from different disciplines to collaborate on patient care on a daily basis.
The Delray Center Clinical Team is a true “Team” that has trained, studied, and worked together for many years with the same leadership and clinical philosophy. All team members are DBT trained and actively participate in ongoing DBT education and consultation. The Delray Center hiring process is stringent, with only the most qualified professionals selected to join the team. Our therapist turnover is very low, with almost all new hires being made for team growth rather than replacing a departed member. Some of the team members even serve as preceptors for therapist training programs from Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University, as well as the Psychiatry residency training program from University Pavilion Hospital. Because of these training program affiliations, many team members are actually now “home grown”, having completed their training and internships at the Center before becoming fully licensed therapists and doctors. This facilitates an even greater depth of clinical knowledge and effectiveness in our clinical systems.
Our depth and range is such that someone can receive focused treatment from a psychiatrist collaborating with a therapist together with an Outpatient Program (OP) if that is all that is needed, or more comprehensive Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels of care, if indicated by a more severe and complex presentation. Individuals who receive comprehensive program based care typically graduate to focused outpatient treatment with the same doctor and therapist that they started with. Our goal is simple; do what it takes to achieve full remission.
Located in beautiful Delray Beach, Florida, the Delray Center provides specialized services to not just the individual, but to their partner and family as well.
